Latius and Dimidium. In the previous post I discussed the broad scope of future plans when it comes to Optio’s Prioritization Station app. In here, I want to get more into the nitty gritty of functionality without going so far into detail that someone can replicate my designs.

In Latius, you have the bare bones of the overall idea. The central hierarchy is there along with some improved ways to view the Life Aspects, Goals, and Tasks. I did away with the prioritization matrix since feedback surrounding it was somewhat overwhelmingly negative and it was something that had not only been done before, making it unoriginal, but was so overdone that I would’ve been walking into a very saturated market when it came to the prioritization matrix.

Instead of the Matrix, I’ve conjured up a replacement design that I call the Lists. There is one for each step in the hierarchy, and they’re structured in roughly the same way. Secondly, I have taken the “Daily Tasks” and made them into a page of alarms that one can set for themselves. I added a search function to the Lists, allowing the user to search for specific things in the Lists using keywords and different tags. Filters also apply. I strove to create something as versatile and user-friendly as possible, because life is volatile and everything can change at the drop of a hat, which brings me to the Archives.

The Archives are an extension of the Lists that act as a stored memory from when you started to the present day. A Goal or Task is automatically moved to the Archives once completed, and the search functions in the active Lists apply to the archived Lists as well.

In Dimidium, the main changes are the addition of Events, a multi-view calendar that can be color coded based on the corresponding Life Aspect, etc. The calendar has four separate viewing options, and I have created an “Event List” to display upcoming classified events on your calendar, and a notification can be sent to remind you. Although you could also call it a Schedule.

These are some of the basics for the Latius and Dimidium versions of the app coming down the pipe, and if you want to learn more or just want to support us in the endeavor to create something we think can really help people, I would love to point you in the direction of our patreon page and our discord server called Optio Roma.

I’ll be putting out more content on both platforms as soon as possible in the coming days and weeks!

Remember, all proceeds go towards funding this project, so I hope you have a great day and consider supporting.

Best,

Drew
